Three Palms Arabians Named “Discovery Farm” by the Arabian Horse Association

Three Palms Arabians is pleased to announce that it has been named a “Discovery Farm” by the Arabian
Horse Association (AHA).  AHA is the official breed association and registry for Arabian, Half-Arabian and
Anglo-Arabian horses in the United States with more than 40,000 members.  Discovery Farms is a unique
program which offers visitors the opportunity to explore Arabian horses up close and personal.  Three Palms
Arabians is one of only nine Discovery Farms located in the state of South Carolina.

Discovery Farm participants offer a relaxed, no-pressure, non-sales atmosphere where visitors can learn all
about the breed and their characteristics, and gain first hand knowledge of just how truly special the Arabian
breed is.  Historically, the Arabian has maintained a reputation as the horse of beauty, intelligence, courage,
endurance, and romance.  Because they were bred and reared in close contact with the Bedouins of the
Desert Arabia and existed in mutual inter-dependence, they developed an unequaled ability to bond with
humans.  Most people have read of this celebrated relationship in Walter Farley’s beloved series of Black
Stallion books.

As a breeding and training facility, Three Palms Arabians offers visitors a chance to see different ages of
Arabians from newborn foals to geriatric horses in their golden years.  Three Palms Arabians has
representatives from different Arabian bloodlines and strains, including offspring of the 1991 Salon du
Cheval World Champion and 2006 Salon du Cheval Reserve World Champion as well as US National
Champions and Reserve Champions.  There are even two half-siblings to the horse that played the role of
The Young Black Stallion in the 2003 movie.

Three Palms Arabians is owned by Patricia and Gunnar Palm.  The farm is located on the historic site of
Magnolia Hall Plantation in the town of Hagood, South Carolina.  They breed, train, and show world class
straight Egyptian Arabian horses, and focus on introducing newcomers to the Arabian breed.  Three Palms
Arabians is also a participant in the Arabian Horse Association Mentor Network.  For more information visit
