Spay/Neuter Clinic in Charlotte

The clinic has never received any government funding, and is able to offer the lowest
cost spay and neuter rates in North Carolina only because of our many generous private
donors. We are very proud of the tax savings we have provided to our community, but we
are even more proud of our efforts on behalf of all our cat, dog, bunny, guinea pig and
pot-bellied pig friends. We have also recently acquired a Mobile Spay/Neuter Unit, which
allows us to provide this valuable service to all Charlotte neighborhoods
This clinic is open to the public and provides quality spay/neuter surgery only. No other
veterinarian-provided services are available.

Due to the high demand for our services, appointments are scheduled 8 to 10 weeks in
advance, so please plan accordingly.
Fees
Spay Neuter Dogs $40.50 $40.50 Cats $33.50 $27.50 Others Varies

How to have your animals altered at our clinic:
1. Download a copy of our application. Or come by our shelter to pick one up or call us
for a copy.

2. Fill out the application completely.
3. On the day of surgery, you must bring a current vaccination record from your vet
showing that your animal is up-to-date on all vaccinations. We do not offer vaccinations
and we are not able to provide spay/neuter services to animals that have been privately
vaccinated.
4. Attach payment (money order or check, please no cash) to application and mail it. You
may indicate dates that would be good for you and we will try to honor your request.
Please remember we usually schedule 8 to 10 weeks in advance).

5. We will call you to confirm an appointment time.

Spaying a female before her first heat protects her from risks of uterine, ovarian, and
mammary cancers.

Spaying also protects her from the stresses of pregnancy.

Spaying reduces her frantic interest in the outdoors and reduces the chances that she'll
wander far.

Spaying reduces the chances she'll mark your home with urine when she's in heat.

Unaltered cats have urges that make them irritable and anxious. They yowl or whine
frequently, fight with other cats, and/or destroy objects in the house.

Neutering a male reduces his risk from numerous health problems.

Neutering lowers his urge to roam and to fight, and thus lowers chances of disease
transmission and woundings.

Neutering also reduces his tendency to spray and mark in the home.

And neutering eliminates the powerful odor of adult male cat urine.

Help stop the suffering -- Spread the word

Early-age spay/neuter
Some people delay spay/neuter for their pet because they've heard the animal must be
six months or older. Although many older veterinarians were taught that, a number of
studies show that cats and dogs as young as eight weeks have no problems later in life
due to early- age spay/neuter. Plus, young kittens bounce back faster from the
procedures than older kittens or cats. The American Veterinary Medical Association
(AVMA) endorses early-age spay and neuter.
